I found the rarest food in Perth yet - Iga Penyet (smashed rib).I thought that "penyet" is only limited to chicken and fish. But hey, this is very interesting - a beef rib is being smashed, marinated with home-made sauce and grilled to perfection. Yum!
Instead of the "crispy kremes" (like ayam penyet), they use a hot spicy chilli to cover it up. The meat is as tender as chicken thighs and it blends really well with the marinated chilli.
This dish comes as a set meal with rice, soup and soy sauce; and it's only AUD$9 ... Well it's still expensive; however it's the taste and the tenderness of the meat that you're after. So why not?

ReplyDeleteand yeah, AUD$9 is pretty normal. But I knoe some places here that sells set meals below AUD$8.. hehe
